Hey everyone,

One of my college buddies called me to come to the shop and check out his new "investment"...

He wanted to diversify his portfolio as well as go Vintage racing so this is what he came up with:

This is one of two AMC factory-backed Javelin Trans Am cars from 1968! A guy out of Chicago, IL named Ronnie Kaplan was the Javelin Trans Am leader from 1967-1969. He built three cars in 1968, two to race (#3 & #4 cars) and one for a show car (#2 car). The #3 car was raced by Peter Revson and the #4 car was raced by George Follmer. George raced this car in 10 Trans Am races in 1968 and he had four 2nd places, a 7th place, an 8th place, a 10th place, two DNF's, and one DNS.

The car has not been in the sunshine for 20 years getting a complete restoration. The engine hasn't been cranked in 10 years! We went through the car this weekend and my buddy is going to make it's maiden voyage this week in Austin, Texas at the Circuit of America's for the U.S. Vintage Racing National Championship!!!! We can't wait! This is one BAD AZZ car!!!

My hat is off to anyone not running a Chevy/Ford in T/A racing.....it's an art to build a strong running reliable AMC/Pontiac/Mopar motor. Car looks great as someone has already said Bruce Canepa fiels a strong running Javelin.....open checkbook on that operation......
