so the welded in latem model module i was going to run to put a pump in tank in the 64 aint gonna work. inch too tall. so im back to an external pump purely for cost constraints. this is for an EFI conversion.

plan now is to add a bulkhead fitting for return and use the stock pickup and sending unit to gravity feed a frame mounted pump.
but now im overthingking the plan. worried about starvation when below half a tank. which is why i picked up the module in the first place.

to that end, i was thinking about sumping the tank, or doing a surge tank. surge tank would require a second pump, as well as additional plumbing and finding a place to fit it. pretty sure i could hide it behind the wheelwell under the quarter panel. this setup would run me about 150 total.

the sump option i can do with a 40 sump from ebay, and my local welder has guarenteed a leak free tig weld job for 50 bucks if i prep and fit everything. so were at 90 for that, but i only ever see sumped tanks on drag cars.

cost vs performance is the primary concern, car gets used as a daily, autocross toy, and fun mountain road runner. so starvation is incredibly possible.

so, wat should i do? or am i overthinking it again, and just go with plan A and see how it works on the cheapest/easiest setup?
