motor mounts on 77 z28

Hey guys,

Finally starting on my 77z. First step new 383. Now my dad is an old school hot rodder, but not up on all the new tech. He was warning me to make sure I get locking motor mounts. I'm goin to use poly mounts, but they all seem to be the same. Do they not make locking ones in poly because they don't break down like the rubber ones did?

Your dad is thinking of the older style mount Chevy used, you have what they call "clamshell" mounts. The design of it is basically interlocking as the metal clamshell surrounds the rubber part so it won't come apart like the earlier mounts would.
