LSX Conversion Engine Mounts for the 1968-1972 GM A-Body
P/N 4008
Priced at $149.99/set

UMI Performance, Inc is proud to introduce our P/N 4008 GM A-Body LS conversion engine mounts for the 1968-1972 platform. These laser cut brackets place the LS engine with LS-1 oil pan in the stock SBC/BBC location. The engine-side mounts are slotted to allow adjustment and perfection of engine placement. Strong 3/16” plate and double shear brackets take all the power your LS can produce. UMI’s greasable polyurethane engine mounts dampen vibration while still providing a crisp, performance feel. Available in tough, high quality red or black powder coat and premium hardware is included. UMI components are 100% manufactured, tested, and raced out of Philipsburg, PA-USA.

Ryan can I assume that with a ls7 and t56 magnum I could use your mounts to push the engine as close to the firewall as possible? Also any idea as to height....does these mounts place the engine at the same height as a sbc or bbc ...?

Hello Ryan,

We are start by placing the LS block in the "factory" location, matching the bell housing to a SBC/BBC. We then match the drive-line angles to make sure the LS block sits where the SBC/BBC did. We then tweak slightly from that postion. The slider will allow the engine to be moved back some for additional clearance. We used the popular LS1 pan and it cleared, some pans may still require frame notching. The engine can only go back so far before you hit the firewall, it can only go so high as well before the headers hit the floor. The T56 Magnum will require you to cut most of the tunnel area out for clearance. I have pictures of this we can share if needed.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

Yes I would love to see some pictures, either here or email me directly. I know About having to cut of most of the tunnel and was going to use a ls3 or holley pan

Check out the thread below. Post #147 shows our tunnel cut for a standard T56.. the magnum could be larger?
