Hi guys, I found this site by accident while looking for information on wheel offsets, backspacing, etc.
I'm currently resurecting my 1970 Torino fastback, in the P.T. manner. While I don't have the resources of some, I'm planning to make it as close to the P.T. ideal as possible.
That means optimising the stock suspension, installing a mild engine, automatic o.d.; rear disks; 18" wheels and a comfortable interior with a/c etc.
I've already done:
the Shelby upper control arm drop; installed high rate front springs; 1" swaybar in custom machined aluminum mounts and nylon inserts (made by ME!); spring perches riding on nylon bushings; 3/4" rear bar mounted in poly bushings; rear leaf bushings repplaced with nylon.
My target is:
~13.5 in the 1/4; 150mph top speed; .8G steady lateral, 115' 60-0- all with the A/C on!
I'm currently on work assignment till early Nov. so I don't have time to post pics until I get back home, but I will post them. I look forward to any help and suggestions from the P.T. community.
Regards,
Momir.
