I am looking to put a C5 drivetrain in a 1972 Chevelle. I have a 1999 Corvette that was issued a salvage title due to a falling object that broke the windshield surround. So all of my drive components are good and would like to attempt to put into my 72 Chevelle. Has anyone tried or have any input?
Thanks

If you're talking about putting the entire rolling chassis under the chevelle I suppose all things are possible they have put them in Honda civics. But honestly it would be a whole lot of work. Honestly in my opinion I would pull the engine and part the rest to fund your chevelle project. There are so much after market support and sponsors here that can make your chevelle handle better than a stock 99 vet with just bolt on parts. Don't get me wrong it would be cool if you pulled it off.

We recently did a custom chassis for a 70 Chevelle, utiliIng 2005 Corvette drivetrain and rear suspension. A custom gas tank is required, along with a lot of trunk and Trans tunnel cutting and fab to fit the rear suspension and torque tube. The tube needs to be lengthened, and CV axles shortened too.
It's still pretty costly to do the custom chassis though.. Our suspension is set up to handle like a Vette and ride very well too, for not much more than you'd spend on a custom frame to fit what you have. But it's your car, and we've done it before! :)

Look up Eckerts Rod And Custom or Ironworks speed and Kustom. They both have a Chassis for ya.

Nice Dale! Any pics or is there a link to a build thread?

No build thread, we just built the chassis, the customer is building the car... but here's some pics!
