Hey guys,

I have a 66 Chevelle Malibu (non -ss) and i always liked the bold 'SS' badge when you walk up to an old chevy. I'm dropping in an lsx engine into my 66 and have been tossing around the option of an emblem from emblempros but... the lsx badges just dont look right on the old cars. I took a stab at making an era-appropriate looking badge and was looking for the opinion of the forum.

(this was just a quick 10 min job, i'd refine it before actually having them made)

here are two options:

option 1 -- hints at the pro-touring underlining:

option 2 -- more of a stealth option:

option 3 -- hybrid

so... opinions? stay stock, option 1, option 2?

I personally like the bigger X. The LS is more subtle and era appropriate but the X is that hint of modern that it needs. The second LSX isn't bad, but I think it may confuse people into thinking the submodel is LSX instead of an engine relation.

If you're trying to keep it subtle, do the second one. If I was going to use the top one I'd use the normal font for the LSx badge, but that's just me.

Hmm... another option i hadn't thought about is starting with the option b and making the x bigger and a different color. a hybrid of the two

Like your last thought best Scott.

Maybe even the style of lettering where the X has a little foot to the 4 ends.

A graphic artist should have his own version of emblems.
Not voting on poll, cuz I agree with neither.

oh i see, you were talkign about a serif font. I think if i do a non 'ss' looking 'x', it would be the trademarked lsx's variant.. i appreciate your input though.

I voted for option #1, but no matter what, I am a big fan of the Chevelle pictured!

I like the third option, but it jumps out as a Buick gsx to me. I think the second option looks more Chevy to me. I don't think there is a wrong choice however, great looking car anyway you slice it.
