How far should the splines on a ford 9 inch axle slide into the carrier for it to be sufficient? I just got my 31 spline carrier and Strange axles installed, but they don't seem to be hitting the carrier like the 28 spline set up did. Passenger side goes into the carrier about .605", driver is .75". Is this correct?
