So, here we go! We FINALLY found the 66 Chevelle Convertible project car we have been looking for.

It looks like just one paint job over the original, 98% rust free, appears all panels are original, Original owners manual and Protecto-Plate too!

It started life as a 283/powerslide car. It does have a power top, AGR power Steering box, Baer 13" front brakes, Global West Front and rear arms, Drop coils and 18's. The motor is rebuilt (who cares...Right?) and we will drive it for a little bit then tear it down!

It will get a FULL frame off build using everything we sell. It will be LSx powered, maybe an LSA or Twin Turbo, Mini Tubbed, and a TON more...

Follow along as we dig in. We will document everything we install on the car, any issues we run into and make installation suggestions on tons of the top name brand Pro-Touring parts this girl will wear!

We also need to give her a name. We are also looking for someone to do a rendering for us.

Sure thing. For now, so we can do the rendering we will choose a Forgeline and most likely will end up with Forgeline in the final build.

Their finishes are amazing and some of their designs are just incredible! We many work with them to design a new wheel from scratch for it too!

Beautiful car but why start with a prefect car just to tear it apart and highly modify it?
Why not just get a project to start with and build it up? Like I said its a nice car but seems a little backwards to me. Not trying to offend you or anything just curious. I get the point of having a nice car to start with but still backwards to me.

Its not a "nice" car, it does run and drive but needs to be restored either way...

There is not ONE piece on the car that doesn't need replaced other than the body/frame which is what i was after to save on labor...Put the $$ towards paint and blocking vs welding/grinding

There are not a lot of rust free 66 Chevelle Convertible projects on the west coast for sale. I have been searching every single day for over 6 months, the ONLY other cars that i found were a Michigan rust belt car for 19K and it needed Quarters, doors and floors, had a manual top and no options and a rust bucket major major project in pieces for 10K

I would rather have a complete car, not missing anything, that we can cruise around with the kids for another 2-3 months here in Nor Cal and plan as we go as well as do a few things to it as we go....

This was also a request of Kim's....That it be a running, driving car for now..... Happy wife, Happy life right?

^ Understandable. It just appeared a little nice to tear apart is all. This will be a beautiful car once its complete I'm sure.

Happy wife, empty pockets more like it

It was just mentioned on another board that the car carries a nice petina. They looked at it athe goodguys as well, his customer was thinking new chassis and 509, leaving the rest, it survived well, it must have been a southern car. Doesn't have black/yellow Ca plates but if wanted, those can be had now!

Kim is a pretty low spender compared to me lol!! By a long shot actually!
