I've been working on my project and posting to the forum for years but when I tried to add an update I got a message I'm over my quota and I can no longer add pix. Hell, I tried to add a screenshot and couldn't even upload that! Anybody have a clue what's happened or how to get around this?
thanks,
Bob

I'm not sure, but I think if you delete some of your previous uploads, you can upload more. I can't even post any pics from my phone, thru the net or the app. But can't get any response as to why.
Try that and hopefully it'll work for you.

I will look into this now and see if I can figure out what's up.

You hit your max of 31mb of free storage. I just bumped the limit to 40mb for everyone.
If you run into that limit you may want to look into using Photobucket or we may have to set up some cheap yearly packages for more space.

Jimmy, are you able to post pics from a PC? Have you tried the basic uploader option?
We are building a new site so hopefully all the little bugs go away.

Hey fellas,
Thanks for all the quick feedback; I wish I'd have checked back before I deleted some pix, which it turns out was the problem.
I use Photobucket for work and will start using it for pix storage and upload; no sense in my clogging the system unnecessarily.
Thanks again,
Bob

Larry, I can post from a PC, but I'm almost never on a PC except at work and then I'm not on here. LoL! I used to be able to post pics from the app but can't anymore. Is that part of the app dead?

I like www.imgur.com You do not need an account at all, just drag and drop the photos and it gives you the [ img ] tags that we use here.
If you're unfamiliar with how to link a photo from elsewhere on the web, it looks like [ img ]www.theimagesurl.jpg[ /img ] without the spaces around those [ ] brackets. Frame your images that way, host them off site, and they'll load faster, save server costs for protouring.com and allow you a nice way to build and track whole albums of photos of your project!

If anyone is still paying attention to this thread amd could offer advice I would appreciate it.
Can you put pictures in an online Dropbox then place them into posts here on the forum, and if so, how? I've tried and get an error message so obviously I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks

Bob,
Any online image hosting site can be accessed to load pics. Like Tony posted previously, you have to frame your image properties with https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif. Your host site should give you a link to post or simply right mouse button on the pic and hit "properties" in the drop down. This will give you the img address (url) to copy and paste into your thread.
This is the url from one of my build pics on Fotki:
http://images46.fotki.com/v286/photos/5/904975/12468873/MVC058F-vi.jpg
This is the same url with https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif on the front and back sides.
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2014/09/MVC058Fvi-1.jpg
This is very simple once you get the idea. :)

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the quick reply but even when using the "img" tags I still must be screwing something up because I just tried again (using the tags) and got the same error message. I took the screenshot you see below so hopefully you'll see something that points directly to my stupidity:

I haven't used Photobucket in quite a while but I'll give it a try instead of our Dropbox and see what happens. I imagine most of the civilized world is anxious for an update on my Fury!

I uploaded my pix to Photobucket and loaded them to the thread with NO issues at all; looks like using a Dropbox just isn't the same as Photobucket.
Thanks for all the input and help!
