Me and my dad are restoring our first Camaro, and we are not sure how the fan in the heater core box goes in. When we line up the holes from the inner and outer heater box the fan comes into contact with the firewall. So my question is how does the fan fit in there. Does it go into the hole in the firewall, and we need to cut the hole bigger, or is there supposed to be a big spacer to fill in the space created. I have tried looking up guides but most don't explain how the fan is supposed to go in. Thank you.

I found the issue the blower motor was the wrong one the shroud was to long, and that was making it hit the firewall.
