Want some advice on a motor that I have had and I am tring to build a cheap fun little motor. I have a std bore ls1, everything is in gd shape minus the crank. spun a bearing. Did just rehoned the block to put a nice crosshatch. no ring ridge on the top of the cylinder. piston, rods ,cam and lifters all in gd shape. It is missing the rear and front cover and no intake or harness. Do I sell off what I have a buy a junkyard 6.0 and start off with alittle more. whats this ls1 worth.
Any advice would be great
Thanks Paul

If it were me, I would build the ls1 unless you find an aluminum 6.0. There are heads/cam ls1 builds that make great power. Most in the junkyard are iron that I find.

Why not put a stroker kit in the LS1? In the end you'll know what you have vs junkyard motor with unknown history. Motor probably insnt worth much as it sits- maybe $5-600. Covers are easy to find- I have a couple sets if you end up needing them. You could go budget & reuse stock heads & even use regular LS1 intake to keep cost down. Lots of options. Scott
