I'm getting all measured up for wheels under the GTO. I'm using the wheel rite tool. Iv'e found the wheel wells are a bit more narrow than I thought and the 265 Nitto555's I got are wider than the 275/60/15's I have on there now. anyhow It looks like i'm going to need a 1/4" wheel spacer on the driver side to get everything to work right. I intend to use a Billet Specialties {obviously billet} spacer to make it work so I can avoid the cast units Iv'e heard bad stuff about.

Is there anything actually wrong with this? I can't think of anything other than, it might throw the front to rear alignment out a bit but that can be corrected.

Drivers side, front and rear? The rear isn't an issue and 1/4" is ALL I would go on the front. I will not recommend it for the front but 1/4" isn't a show stopper. I would do zero auto crossing or the like with it in place though.

1/4 is just a spacer. Depends on your lug studs' quality- ARP long studs giving 7-8 turns *minimum*, and you should be fine.

Recently on two different forums I saw a too-thin adapter-style fail because there wasn't enough material (aluminum) under the inside lugs against the hub. Would have been fine in steel, I felt.
And the other forum I saw a guy with an offroad modified Jeep bend his hub flange and not hurt the adapter.

Common sense of eye-balling the material and load paths goes a long way.

That said, if it's possible to get them hubcentric, definitely do that

Front to rear alignment won't be an issue unless you're looking for every hundredth of a second on a roadcourse.
Just be sure you have enough thread like everyone's said so far. That's the only issue with spacers, especially a small one like that.
