I've heard quite a few good things about the Kumho's. Although I haven't driven on them yet. A buddy of mine just put some BFG G-Force tires on his Honda (yes, Honda) and those things are awesome. Took a onramp that normally went at 55 at 75 with no problem. That's from stock tires to the BFG's. Yes, the car is still being setup to handle that stuff. The entire suspension on the Honda is upgraded and I'm still tuning it a little. Heh... Like I can do much to that. Anyway, that's just my experience.

They are really good tires for the price. I've ran them at Sears Point on my old 90 GT mustang. They are not as sticky as a set of higher end tires, but they do really well for the buck. My old roomate ran the race compound tires they make on the street with his 93 RX7 and really liked them. The only problem that we notice is that they will track anything. If there is a crease or groove in the road that's running parallel with your car you might find the tires wanting to follow that groove rather than turn.

If you want a really trick set of gumball's for the street check out the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires! They won't last nearly as long as the Kumho's but they will stick to anything!

I have 16K miles on the Supra 712s that are on my '67 Camaro. Great tire for the cash.

I have the esta 711 on my car and absolutly love them. Mine cost me $60 for the back(245/50/16) and $45 for the fronts(225/50/16). Couldn't pass them up.

I'm running 275/40/17 & 335/35/17 V700 Victoracers on my PT El Camino and like them. Very sticky but do tend to follow road irregularities as STRacerDuke mentioned..

I'm running Khumo 712's on my 99 SS. I usually get around 30K miles out of moderately hard use. for track days I have BFG drag radials for the strip and pilot sports for auto x
I'm planning on getting the khumo auto x tire as I've heard nothing but good things about them. the khumo street tires are great in the rain, moderate on dry pavement.
The SS runs 12.6 @110 with a tci 3500 convertor and 3.73 gears. hope some of this helps.
