Hello guys

I need a good tire combination for the wheels I will be ordering from Bonspeed at the end of this year. I will go with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, but what sizes can I use? I have read that the Michelins are a little wider than many other tire brands? How wide can I go on the front wheels and the rear wheels?

The front wheels are 19x8 but 9" from lip to lip and the rears are 19x10 and 11" from lip to lip.

I hope you guys can help me, I need the tires so I can get a measurement for the wheels.

Thanks! :)

Daniel

Front, 245/35/19
Rear, 275/35 275/40, or 285/35 would be good sizes i'd say. Depends on how tall you want the tire.

Thanks for your answer. Is it not possible to go wider? I was hoping on some Michelins in 295/35-19 at the rear.. I want 35 tall sidewalls on every tire..

The wheels and tires are going on a 1973 Mustang.

You may already know this but the 35 is the aspect ratio (percentage of width) so the sidewall height will be relative to the width.

A 295/35-19 is:
295mm wide
(35% of 295mm is 103.25mm) so your sidewall will be 103.25mm or 4.06in
Total Tire Diameter is 27.13in

295/35-19: Sidewall Height = 4.06in Total Diameter = 27.13in

285/35-19: Sidewall Height = 3.93in Total Diameter = 26.85in

275/35-19: Sidewall Height = 3.79in Total Diameter = 26.58in

245/35/19: Sidewall Height = 3.38in Total Diameter = 25.75in

Another thing to consider is availability and price of certain tire sizes. For example a 295/35r19 is more expensive than a 295/30R19.

255 or 265 width up front, 295 or 305 in the back. Aspect ration depends on the tire sidewall you are looking to achieve.

Thanks for your answer. Actually I did'nt know that at all, so thanks for sharing. That is some nice and useful info!

I don't know what the difference is in price here, but I will take a look at it. Thanks again!

Considering the actual size of the wheel (19x8 and 19x10) this is the same sizes I have on my 73 camaro. I have 245/35/19 25.75" tall front and 295/30/19 26.1" rear. Rear tire is Mich super sports. They are very wide. I had to do BFH mod in the back and it clears great. I Luv em

Sounds like a nice setup.. Do you maybe have some pictures of the car with the tires and wheels? Could be really nice to see how the tires and wheels look on the car :)
