Need some Idea's

I'm back on track now and almost ready to get started with my ventura.
For now I'm going to try to get it driveable. I still plan to do Guldstrand mods to my suspension.If you look at my signature you will see what my Ventura will look like except for wheels.I sure could use some idea's on what directions and mods I can make using mostly used parts.With the exception of suspension and brakes.Also I really don't know the proper way to plan a project.Thanks,Cliff

Cliff,
I searched for some 74 GTO pix and I'm impressed. Pretty cool lookin' car--especially with painted pillar/post trim. Are you planning on doing a shaker hood? Some 04/05 GTO wheels and seats would be a nice touch, too. Maybe you could integrate the GTO LS1 coil covers on top of your 400. Then just suck in the bumpers Chip Foose style and paint it the right color.

I would like to do this hood for my 74 Ventura.But I don't know how to modifiy a fiberglass hood to work.

Looks good. Might look even better if the hood bulge was raised along with the enlarged scoops. Still, there's nothing quite like watching your engine shake from the driver's seat. :wrc:

That is true but I have been to www.pontiacventura.com (http://www.pontiacventura.com) and there are alot of ventura's in the 74 range that look like gto clones.I trying to go for a 1 of none what if car. 69 GTO JUDGE rear spolier. 67-69 FB Super 400 hood by spotts performance which would have to be reworked to fit my car and I know nothing about fiberglass.:hmm: But I'm still not sure about color choice. But do plan to use the JUDGE stripes and emblems and trying for a RAM AIR set up.Big plans and no money but I will get it figured out and done by trying to do as much as possible myself.I also have plans that a member at performance years gave me on how to reset my bumpers farther back into the body which will help get rid of the chunky look of the 5 mph bumpers.He did it on his 74 GTO anhd it really cleaned up the look.

I cant wait to see your project start, for some crazy reason I love X-Bodies. Are your plans for a comfortable pro-touring car or will you build it more of a street fighter style.

Hey Andrew, I am going for a comfortable pro touring car.So when I get it done I will be able to drive through the mountains or cross country with out the handling to go all squirrely. I promised over 8 years ago to my boys that when I am able I would build a car and we could go on a power tour together.Well now is time my oldest has graduated HS and is in C.C. learning machining technologies and the Middle son has Joined the army on the deferred enlistment program.And I have just been pronounced cure from cancer a couple a months ago.I see all the cars here and I haven't learned the difference between a street tourer or fighter.

'Street Fighter' means a more bullet-proof car. Built more for competition but still every bit as streetable as a regular G-Machine.

I'm glad you guys liked the page on my site...however, it has been a while since I've looked at it and I realize now there are some corrections that need to be made in regards to prices. But the idealogy remains the same.

Tony how much more do you have left to do on your camaro? I just finished your website and didn't know if you had completed your car yet?

Chufman...I'm finishing up some last few details on my house and then plan to have it in the paint shop by November (at the latest). After that it's all down hill. Next year will be major reassembly and then the following year will be drivetrain. With any luck....Woodward Avenue, August '07. Stay Tuned.
