Here's a short video of my 71 Chevelle making a few passes down an empty stretch of road. A friend back home, Steve Banks, edited the (very) raw footage together for me. None of the passes are at wide open, but it gives you a good idea of how the car sounds and moves!

Thanks to Scott for hosting it!

Hope you like it!

Kris, please, more substance, less advertising. No question, the car is pretty, I've seen it, and its really nice looking et. al. (and your folks are super duper cool), but... Makes me feel like I am watching a TV commercial for a car that is more hype than reality.

Sorry to be harsh, my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

....less advertisement? All I have is my website at the end, after the video is over? I didn't make the video either, it was just a favor from a friend. As soon as I have more footage to work with I'll make a better video.

Damn mark, you've turned into a real turd lately. lol :poke: give him a break :spam:, although it would of been interesting to show the aftermath of that on the video, the part where vince drives through the dirt and smokes everyone out!
BTW wouldn't this be in multimedia?

Mark, remember that the car did pass tech to run on the track, and that there was a thrash to try and get it on the track. This video is only after we made repairs to it after the track event. You would have seen it on the track if not for that damn alternator belt. Also, he didn't edit the video. A friend did to make it seem like that.

By the way, can I see your shiny wheels again? NBL... :wedgie:

the car sounds awesome tho, too bad he couldn't get track worthy in time, what was the reason it would not pass the tech??? can't wait to see that on the track...we wanna see more of that burn out!!!!

the part where vince drives through the dirt and smokes everyone out! ONLY A REAL AXE HOLE WOULD DO THAT!!! LOL that was pretty funny tho...sorry

It passed tech, but we couldn't get a replacement belt in time to get it on the track. Everything else checked out just fine. Might have made it around the track once without the alternator and waterpump...but probably not.

Hey, I'm just glad to see a SEMA car moving under it's own power.

Sweet car Kris.

I don't think my dad and I could ever own a "show" car. It's no fun not to get in the car and cause some trouble!

Kris, sorry if my reponse came off too harsh, it most likely isn't the case, but I seem to be getting iritated by folks popping in to self promote, "hey guys!!!! Look at me!!!!" That really didn't seem to be the case at all when I met you, so I was probably out of line. And really, you and your folks are terrific, I wasn't trying to be a jerk.

Yody/Allen: Yeah, the wheels certainly aren't as pretty with the gear lube on them, eh? But the cut axle seal was the least of the issues my poor car had on its first shakedown run, it turns out that the oil out the exhaust during decel was due to a spent engine block. So even though the ten or fewer laps were fun, they were expensive. So heck, if I need a new block, I might as well put more piston in it, more compression, and more cam, right? More porting on the heads?

You know, seeing that both of you were there, you could have made a really cool statement like, "gee, Mark, you never passed me out there on the track!!!!" And you'd be right!! No one would need to know that you, uh, weren't on the track, but rather hanging out in the garage that Carl and myself rented to escape 106 degrees outside. Takes a little wind out of the sails, eh? (Allen will get a kick out of it, but my guess is that Yody will come back with something to show how much smarter/faster/cooler, generally uber-worldly :dunno: )

Having a bad week,Mark?

exactly, get your head out of your butt! :bananna2: You have come off extremely harsh in your last few posts on this board, and if this is coming from me, then you know its bad :1st: well I 'm not one to judge you, so do whatever you want, but I alwasy had good words about you......

Yody being the voice of reason. Wow. Let me look out my window and see if the 4 Horsemen are riding down my street... :jawdrop: j/k

Mark, no harm no foul. I was only posting it because people had asked about video, not shamelessly promoting myself. I didn't say anything like "THE ULTIMATE G-MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!"

I try to be humble about things. My Chevelle is nice, but it's not perfect, it won't necessarily outperform many of the cars on this site (that are actually finished) and isn't the pinnacle of hand-fabricated artwork. It's just a car that me and my dad built to enjoy, whether it be taking it to a show, driving it on the streets, or taking it to an open track day.

Afterall, that's what this hobby is all about. Doing things the way you like. If people dig it, more power to them.

Mark, I was offered a ride. I just didn't take it. And I did spend most of my time in the on the spectator deck watching. No worries though. I'll be out there soon enough.

Maybe right click and save as? That should work.
