I have a project thread open already with the project updates called Project "Got'em" but wanted to post this separately to get everyone's feedback. I decided that it would be a lot cheaper to pay Ben at Hermance Designs to draw a rendering of my 69 Camaro than to paint the car and not like the way it looks. He was able to show me multiple paint scheme ideas and incorporate my paint ideas into the drawings. He's does great work and is easy to work with...I would recommend him to anyone else looking for this type of work.

I wanted to keep with the traditional scheme of only using two paint colors but mix it up a little differently.

After a couple revisions this is what we came up with...let me know what you think!

I like it! Is there a silver pinstripe between the blue and black or is that just how it was drawn?

That's going to be a silver pinstripe between the black and blue! Couldn't think of any other color that would look good as a separator.

The silver stripe will go perfectly with the chrome on the rest of the car, good choice!

Could you pm me how much the rendering was? I'd like to get one for my Chevelle. Thanks!

Ahh man, that is the paint scheme that I have thought about for my Camaro. I want mine in orange and black.

Thanks! Now I just sit and wait...2-3 months before I get the car back. Here's the link to my build thread if anyone's interested...

I like the paint scheme a lot...the blue is awesome! What is the blue? Custom? The door and hood look like factory Lemans Blue but the rendering is lighter.

Seeing that you have black trim around the windshield and rear glass, you should contemplate making the trim (stock chrome) between quarter glass and door glass black as well. Possibly have a black mirror as well; then everything on the black half of the car is black...with the exception of the taillight bezels.

The blue is actually called "Mulsanne Blue" (1971 paint code #26 I believe if I remember correctly). I wanted the blue to have some metallic flakes to make it sparkle a little more and the original Lemans blue did not have the metallic flakes in it.

It's funny that you mention that because I was just looking at the mirrors last week in my garage and getting them ready to powdercoat black to match the window trim. We have the same idea though...

Trying to decide if I am going to leave the door handles chrome or do them black as well?

Looks great! That looks a little darker than Mulsanne to me, but thats a color that seems to vary a lot in photos.
