Well, It looks like I bought a parts runner... I really didn't mean to! I thought, "If I can get his truck for $1k that'd be sweet!" Then when it actually happened I second guessed myself...

Very cool! With a little money it could be awesome!

Thanks! it'll be another budget build for sure. It runs and drives, but stopping is another story. I'm planning on fixing the drum brakes for now, then upgrading to discs at some point in the future. I don't even have it home yet, so I'm not 100% sure what I've gotten myself in to yet...

Short bed, 68, with a big back window it looks like? Yeah, I've only been looking for one for under $4k out in this part of the country!

After fixing the brakes I think I'd be moving the gas tank. I was always a little uncomfortable with the gas sloshing around behind the seat.
Just the same, it looks like a good score for a grand.

I removed the rusty battery tray and the leaky radiator. Will be ordering replacements today.

I also ordered all new parts for the front suspension/steering and shoes, hardware kits, wheel cylinders, and adjusters for the drum brakes. I still need to order the steering box rebuild kits and rear hard brake lines.

Should be an interesting few weeks as I get her torn apart and built back up.

The plan is to do it on the cheap and get it on the road for now. I will do blocks and shackles in the rear and cut the front springs to lower it. Planning to do a 4/5 drop to start. I don't know a ton about these trucks so I don't want to go too low to start out and have to C notch it right away.
