Does anyone have any information on these new type ball joints ? I have run the standard Moog greasable ball joints for years but a porous metal that grease can flow through? Sounds like soft metal waiting to wear out but that's just a guess.
I'm looking for my 1992 silverado but wonder if I should buy a set for the other Camaro before the supply of original Moogs disappear .

I have bean searching for about an hour and also see a lot of posts about Moog being made in China ect ect. I know store brand vs Moog and usually Moog boxes say made in USA and the parts store brand are made from Chineasium.

I did talk to the Moog/ Federal-Mogul tech line and was told the greasable gusher type bearing is the design that they have used for years. Not sure if they changed marketing language or what. I just want good stuff that lasts.

I have done three front ends since 1997:
1. The 74Z28, moog ball joints, stock control arms with Global west bushings and b-body tall spindles( it still not done and has yet to be driven)
2. A 1974 Camaro with moog ball joints, stock control arms with Global west bushings, stock spindles and all moog steering linkage.
3. 1989 Nissan pickup longbed V6, 5 speed, lifted 2wd. polyurethane control arm bushings, Moog ball joints. Cracked stock a-arms twice, tig welded and never had a balljoint fail even from getting airborn a few times.

I am planning a rebuild on my 1992 Chevy Silverado and was all set to use Moog since I have in the past and parts I thought were made in the USA. Rock auto seems to be the most inexpensive for prices. Local part stores want almost double the price. I remember no one local carried Moog ball joints when I did the first Z28, had to order from Summit. I still have the part numbers from the boxes somewhere, I keep a folder of all part numbers i use on a build just in case, paper does not crash or loose info if you loose your laptop (HA HA).

Anyway the 92 is my daily driver and it needs to last. The truck only has 428,000 miles on it, the front end has been rebuilt at some point since the bushings are greasable and they get a shot at every oil change. all ready changed steering linkage, all Moog and all the boxes said made in USA. Redid that last year.
Bushings, ball joints and steering box are on the to do list.
