I'm working on my videos and pictures now, it takes a while to cut up and edit all of the long videos.

Was a GREAT event! Had a blast... USCA did a great job putting on the whole deal, start to finish.

Here is my 5th session on the road course to hold you over until I get the rest finished.

Alright, got the Speed Stop video uploaded...

I had NEVER done this before and started out with zero instruction. I figured out pretty quickly that I'd have to change how I brake. See, I left foot brake when autocrossing and the first 9/10s of this course is like an autocross. The problem comes on that last tenth!! The first two runs I came to a stop using my left foot on the brake...killing the engine in the process. I then tried to adjust by right foot braking the whole run and that was just about as bad, I just couldn't get my timing down nor be smooth around the 180. I ended up left foot braking and then once I was out of the 180 I'd literally lift my left foot in the air and hold it there (didn't know what else to do with it) until it was time to hit the brake and clutch to stop in the box. This actually worked pretty decent (for me anyway).

Here's the video. I left the camera running on my roof for a while to get some shots of the other cars launching...gives a pretty good idea of the other cars that were out there that day.

Nice job and video's. I went as a spectator and really enjoyed it.

I wish they would of done away with the cones on the road course. They were constantly getting hit.

Thanks, I enjoyed it immensely too.

The Chicane was necessary to keep the speeds manageable. If not for it, there would have been many way more delays (and way worse) down at turn 1 for sure. I got to where I could get through there without braking, it wasn't that tight...but it was enough to make one slow down to weave through which is what it was designed to do.

Thanks, I've been working on them for a day or so...takes a long time when they are that long.

I saw your name is the results Eric, but its miss leading the way they give points vs actual time. How did you do compared to the other classes? Im sure you did good. You going to the auto x at fun ford Saturday?

I had only planned on running 1 or 2 sessions on the road course at the most, but I was having so much fun and the car was handling great...so I kept on going. After my fifth session when I ran the car the hardest, when I came back into the pits, I could still put my hand on my front rim...there was no excessive brake heat at all and I'm running basically stock style brakes on my car. The only part of the road course that constantly gave me fits was turn 6. If I didn't hit i tjust right I'd push the front all the way out to the grass unless I scrubbed off speed. I'd hit it right about 1 time out of every 4. Other than that...I had no trouble getting around the course and would LOVE the chance to go back there and run it again.

It is confusing the way the points are called out. I ran the class with no points. I did not want to be selected for Vegas. That could be very expensive. You have to look at the raw time. I was really happy with the road coarse. The never really got a lap on the autocross I was super happy with. There was always an area I could have cleaned up. It was pretty easy to get too much heat in the tires on the autocross & speed stop. If you took a break & let the tires cool the next run was much easier to improve on. I was going to take it easy on the road course, but that was by far the best part of the weekend. I will not make the Fun Ford autocross. We have some stuff going on.
Thanks
Eric
