Thanks guys! We are home from the hospital now, real life is about to begin! Well, the kid is definately a fussy one and has a temper, Hmmm, wonder where he got that from?!?!? :slap: He don't like to sleep at night, go figure! He also is no doing too well on the tit, he gets mad if it don't come out immediately and really starts crying and then get madder and so on. :crying: I tried to get her to let me show him how to do it, but she said no dice.
Well thanks guys, here are a couple pics. He even came home in the Camaro! Like Charlie said about the Power Tour, since he went the long haul in it, he is a little used to the sound and all. He did not even bat an eye when I fired it up and left, not even when I gigged it a little! :drive:

Oh, name is James Robert Spears III, She pulled rank on using Brock Lee!

Trust me, you would not like it anyway, it is not Mayfield! LOL
They can sense when you are nervious and uneasy so relax, it ain't rocket science. In two or three days, mama will master that feeding thing and all will be fine. Remember, it is a lot easier that way than having to get up at 3am to warm a bottle.
Good Luck and enjoy the moments, you will cherish them later.
Signed,
Ole man waiting on grandkids!

Did I mention I came home in a 57 Jaguar XK 150 drophead coupe, Vert

....and carried over to the second one.
First off, NEVER EVER shake him out of anger or frustration. (NY made us watch a video and sign a paper with each one.)
Get him used to loud noises and all the other crazy stuff now.
If you want him to sleep, swaddle him nice and tight! He just came from cramped quarters and it will take a while to get used to the space.
Throw one of mommy's worn (that day) shirts in the crib. Her scent will comfort him, and help him sleep.
He will grow fast. My youngest was 8 lbs 14 ozs. 21" long on 6-9(birth), on 9-20 he was 15 lbs. 24" long.
Let him cry. It's good for the lungs.
It will take a short while for him and mommy to get used to nursing, or as my "almost" three-year old says, "baby eat boob"
If she pumps, the cream really does rise to the top.
He (my three-month old) likes it from the tap better.
Beware of projectile vomiting.
He will pee on you at least once. (unless you never change or bathe him)
Cherish the first time he smiles at you.
Once he starts teething, Chinese spare ribs.(take most of the meat off first)

When he gets older:
Child proofing, :rotfl: ! My oldest wasn't even two when he defeated it all! (cabinet locks, dead bolts, and all of the other crap that we spent money on to keep him "safe" )
Tantrums WILL happen.
Even though it is easier, do not let him get his way all of the time. (or even close to half the time for that matter)
He will fall, he will get bruised and cut, he will bleed. He will survive.
Unless he is hurt bad (forehead meets driveway for example) he will also react how you react. Remain calm, don't panic and he will calm down quickly.
He will want to spend time with you, which makes it hard to weld or grind or paint. Get used to it, and enjoy the time with him because one day he will not want to spend time with you.
Once he starts talking, you will have to practically learn a new language, and act as a translator.
A two and a half year old can help you install leaf springs.
So can your wife who is 9 months pregnant.
When you are angry with him, he will do things that will make you laugh. It is best to walk away before you start laughing. "Why did you do that?" "I had to daddy"
Sometimes, he will not want you. Don't take it personally.

Enjoy these times. He is a beautiful baby. Take lots of pictures so you can always remember them. (plus they might make for good blackmail fodder when he is a teenager) Take him to a car show. My oldest was 6 months old for his first, my youngest was 5 weeks for his.

Congrats Jimmy! I'm sure you will 'tailor' him into a gearhead starting at an early age. My Son's first words were "vroom vroom" when playing with hotwheels. I had him around the shop looking at cars at 3 months old (almost 6 yrs old now).

BTW, my first car ride was in my Dad's '72 Z/28, and look what happened :)

The fun's just gettin' started, Jimmy. Trust me. Just gettin' started. Wait till your Wife throws in the towel on breast feeding (most do). It'll be off to the store about twice a week for a can of Enfamil. Then the Gerber jars come. That's right. That jingling sound you'll here walking about of Kroger ain't going to be Santa Clause. It'll be Jimmy hauling a bag of 35 or so Gerber jars. And let us not forget diaper changing....Jimmy, if I can offer some advice; Get In/Get Out. Worst mistake a man makes when first changing his child is he pulls off the diaper and then starts digging around for the replacement and the baby wipes and baby powder. Get all that stuff set to go BEFORE you take the diaper off. Undue the diaper, stretch it out. Pull out 2-3 wipes, lay them to the side. Take a deep breath, dive in like Tony Stewarts wheel man. Failure to heed this advice could result in subsequent soiling of ones Pro-Touring T-Shirt.

And yes....I speak from experience.

Well guys, thanks for the input and all! :thankyou:
Charlie, no the kid does not look like you, he has dark hair!! :spank2:
On the diaper notes, I actually have changed almost all of the diapers so far. I am trying to give her some rest for awhile. I have never changed a diaper until I got his first one! I was cleaning him up and he dumped another load while I was doing it, so I had to do it again. As I was cleaning him again, I was trying to get the last little bit out of his crack and I guess I hit a release button or something, It shot out of there like a cannon! :hand: So, my first experience was a little good for learning! I now have the diaper under him and ready before I start with the wipes out and laying there and even put one over his dong as soon as I get him open to protect the surroundings! And I also try to keep an eye on his little eye, (not the one that winks, the one that stinks) so he don't get me again!
I hope to take him to a car show next weekend since there is a cool one coming up. We'll have to see how the wife feels then, can you say 3rd degree!! :jawdrop:
It just now came to me also, I was having her help me bleed the brakes on the 58 Thursday night. I wonder if that helped her go into labor the next AM early. :hmm:
Thanks again guys!
