torque converter

I have a 4l60 that I am about to use with my 5.3 in my monte carlo ss. I wanna change the fluid out or would a filter & fluid change be enough. Can u drain a torque converter and refill it. What transmission fluid would you recommend as the will be a daily driver.

I had mine cut open and cleaned out for 100 dollars by ptc(greatconverters). Had it done though cause the transmission had to be rebuilt from burned up clutches. Might as well get an aftermarket converter before you put it in.
