Mid-August North Georgia gathering

Wondering if there is any interest in a non-racing / non-track gathering in the North Georgia mountains? This will not be a race, but rather an opportunity for friends to come together to hang out for a day, do some driving and grab some chow together. Let me know if you are interested. We will most likely center around Dahlonega (Suches, Hwy 60/19/53), Helen, etc. Follow the thread to get updates.

Unfortunately I found out we have a family gathering of sorts that weekend, and my availability just went to zero. I have a full route planned out, and can forward that if someone wants to take the reins. Otherwise, we can look at the 23rd (as several folks had conflicts on the 16th). Let me know what ya'll want to do.

man I'd love to drive the 70 up from Pensacola but my whole month is planned around military duty. A drill weekend, doing my annual tour for the reserves after that, and then three days of the flight sim the following weekend. The whole month is done and no days off.....crap!!

I'll have to clean up the notes, but shouldn't be a problem. I may also be able to join, but won't have anything older, so might bum a ride if anyone has a seat. I'll know for sure in the next few days. Would also like to get a head count to make sure this weekend still works. If not, we can do the 23rd, or even push into September or October if that's easier. Please post up if you are planning on attending this weekend, or if you are unable to go.

Unfortunately I'm having some issues with the Roadrunner and it's apart so it's looking doubtful that I'll be able to make the cruise this weekend. August 23rd or later would definitely work better for me right now.

Based on the emails, PM's and FB posts, looks like we'll postpone until slightly cooler weather. I'll check the calendar and see what we can come up with for September (looks pretty busy for most folks) or October. If you have any dates you can't make, post up and we can narrow down based on that. I know I have 2 consecutive weekends in September that are out, and possibly one weekend in October.

Wow, been a LONG time since I originally posted this. Now that my car is getting close to being road worthy, anybody interested in a late summer or early fall N. Ga. Mountain run? No racing, no track time, etc. Just cruising through some fun roads and hanging out, with a meal or two fit in. I'll keep bumping this for a couple of weeks and if enough people are interested, we could set something up.

Me and a couple of BMW friends were just talking about cruising up in the mountains and hitting a BBQ joint in a few weeks. I may be interested as well.

getting some bugs worked out on the car in the next couple weeks. Once I get it on the road, will revisit setting up a ride. Plus, the mountains are more fun when its cooler outside :)
