Ok guys, is it possible to build a TH350 to (reliably) handle about 700-750hp......or should I just go with a TH400?
Any/all thoughts, ideas, plans are greatly appreciated!

I know they can handle around 600 with an intermediate sprag and a few other small things. I've heard of drag racers running a th350 with high hp, but I think almost every part in them is replaced at that point. Try to build the th350 if possible, they have less rotating mass which means they eat a little less power

Thanks for the reply bergers59, the parasitic loss being greater on the TH400 is why I would like to use the TH350. Granted, I'm not sure I would ever notice it in the seat of my pants, but it's one of those things where if I 'know' it's there I'd rather stay away from it!
Thanks again!

The th350 will hold that power level for a while with the right parts, but if you want something that can hold it and drive on the street also you'll want the th400, I scattered my th350 with about 800hp, my th400 has held 1000 hp and is still running 10 yrs later with the proper maintence of course.

It's a '67 Malibu I'm building. Wide 5 hubs, Quick Change rear, 5.3 with twin 62mm Borg Warner turbos.
Still mocking things up and wanted to double check my trans selection before I get too deep and have to change to a TH400.
It will be a street car with occasional Autocross blasts and lots of spirited driving.
Reading sam74's comments, it looks like I'll be hunting a TH400......don't wanna blow it apart and have to do it over.
Thanks guys!

yeah, a th400 will probably end up being cheaper and more reliable. If you have build post link us, if not, you should make one
