1967 Camaro

Here is a quick background on me and my 1967 Camaro. I have loved cars as long as I can remember. My dad has a 1969 Camaro that he has had since high school. To me that is one of the coolest things as a car owner. But, as of the past 6 years I have really started to explore the wide world of cars. Not just muscle cars but everything. I finally caught the bug when my dad purchased a new 2010 Camaro back in 2009. It was one of the first ones in town and he had to have it. To me as an eight grader it was the coolest thing ever. That same week we purchased a 1969 Camaro for us to restore together. This was my dream! Working on a 1969 Camaro with your dad! Can't get much better than that! We worked hard on it for a few months until we discovered a lot of rust. The frame rail had rusted and stopped us cold in our tracks. After it sat for a year we sold it. It was a sad day when it left. Now to speed this up here is the next 4 years condensed. A few months later we purchased a 1969 Corvette Convertible. It needed a few things and we decided to flip it. So as of recently we have been restoring a 1970 Chevelle that took two years to complete. It was purchased with all new everything. It had a new interior, sheet metal and a 454 mated to a Turbo 400. It just needed to be painted and put back together.

So as of May of 2014 we started the hunt for a Camaro. We found it a few weeks later just 30 minutes away. It is a 1967 Camaro without an engine and a ton of parts installed.

The list included;

Ford 9 inch rear end with 3.75 gears
Rear coil-over suspension
3 Way adjustable shocks
4 wheel disc brakes
Currie 3rd Member
Autometer Gauges
New Crossmember
New Cowl Hood
New Carpet
Billet Speciality Street Light Wheels
Electronic Line Lock
Detroit Speed Deep Tubs
and much more!

Since we had a 396 from my dads 1969 Camaro we decided it would be a perfect fit for the engine.

My goal is to make it a great all around car that can be enjoyed without worrying too much about the car. My ultimate goal is to participate in the Power Tour as a Long Hauler.

Work started as soon as I could get my hands on it. First, I painted the 396 red and sandblasted the intake for a cleaner look. Next, I cleaned, primed and painted the engine bay. Finally, we put the new engine in and now we are working to get it started and driving again.

Very cool projects! Congratulations on the 67 and enjoy working with your dad. I am subscribed so I can follow along and see if you catch the pro-touring bug with that camaro, lol...
