Hey guys,
Well i bit the bullet and purchased a new car. Decided sports cars are not me, never were me. So yes, I have a muscle car again and I feel happy again. The funny thing is, the only sports car i ever owned was a 1987 Trans-Am GTA. This was my first car 11 years ago. After a few months of owning it, I drove home one day and saw a transam with the 4 square lights in front and a firebird on the hood. Was white car. Cant remember year model but its between smokey n bandit and knight rider models. 79-81 or something.
When i saw the car, i thought 'now thats nice' and fslt i wished i had that not my 87. Few weeks later i saw a muscle car drive past n thought "now thats a real car". Obviously after that i had gotten rid of my trans am and got into muscle scene. I had a 68 dodge charger, i believe i posted photos of it here. QQ1 blue, white top. Sold that and got a mustang mach 1 which you saw recently, lincon electric red.
After/during the sale of the car i was here asking about gt40s and what not. I had an opportunity to go look at one, talk with the owner etc. It gave me some time to evaluate myself and what i actually like the look of if performance is not an object.
And well, i knew if i ever went down the road of a gt40 or something, if a muscle car (remember thats a real car previously mentioned in thoughts) pulled up next to me, i knew my heart would be there not in my sports car.
So what have i bought? Well, the mustang was nice, but its not as tough (bad ass looking) as the bigger sized muscle cars. Since muscle was always what i loved for that tough look... then i had to think big. Mustangs (69 mach i had) is definitely a muscle car, but in a more sport fashion, has the curves etc that more racy cars have. So i knew as nice as it was, it was kinda between a straight out muscle look and a sports. It was muscle with sporty lines.
So i decided to get a big tank again.
I had a 68 dodge charger, to me, the toughest looking mopar.
I had a 69 ford mustang mach1, to me, the toughest looking ford.
I never owned a chevrolet, and to me the 70 chevelle is the toughest looking chevrolet.
So needless to say, to stick with Big/bad, its 68 charger or 70 chevelle. One i owned, one I didn't.
Here are the pics and details of what i did get.
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
Original California car
396ci engine rebuilt 1300 miles ago.
TH400 gearbox rebuilt
Suspension rebuilt
Interior is brand new. So, dashboard, carpet, door trims, headliner, rear seats, front seats all new. The gauges themselves are also new.
Has a new air-conditioner. Works.
Has MSD electronic ignition also.
Gear stick is a B&M shifter
The rear window, side windows and front window all brand new as well.
Car was frame off restored. Since chevelles are a full frame car, the body was taken off the chassis, chassis was blasted and done in satin black, then the rest of the car done, inside and out, top and bottom on a rotisserie.
