1970 Nova
I am looking for a upgrade to my steering box on a budget So I have heard about Iroc and Jeep Grand Cherokee boxes. What I want to do is use my same hoses and I have no room for anything larger.
If you have upgraded a nova or Camaro please advise what is needed. I am limited to a remanufactured box I can't afford the big brand name boxes.
Thanks

Lee power steering has the fittings that go inside the new "updated" power steering gear box so you can reuse your old power steering lines. I think the kit is like $20 total with the tool to press them into the gear box inlet and outlet ports. Hope this helps.

I was hoping to find out what boxes interchange with a 70 nova with power steering.

If you're looking for an upgrade, the JGC, IROC or Buick Grand National boxes with be your cheapest solution. Use one of the boxes and the kit mentioned above. You will need to change the rag joint also because the spline count is different on the older boxes.

Greg,
The Jeep Grand Cherokee box is the cheapest solution if you can find a good low mile one in the salvage yards or the Iroc box from Oreilly's is where I got mine.
I bought a new 670 12.7 to 1 box from Lee but it will not clear my headers but the 800 Iroc box did even though it is bigger.
Good luck as there is plenty info on here and the internet to guide you. I attached a few links to help you.

I have all the parts box rag joint and Lee inserts. My question is do you take anything out of the hose ports or just press the inserts in the existing port?
thanks

You press the inserts into the power steering box Ports. This is so you can use your factory power steering lines.
