In a mildly modified( 410 to 450 hp,) has any one had any real need to use rod and main bearings other than oe replacement? The car will be beat on occasion not on a regular basis. No power adders.

I can't speak from experience, but LS motors can take plenty of abuse in stock from. Hot Rod magazine did a test a couple of years ago where they got a junkyard 4.8 and with a few upgrades put twin turbos on it. Made 1200 HP before the ignition started to cut out! Had stock rods, bearings, valves, rings etc. You should be safe

Thanks fellas. I vaguely recall the articles referenced. I appreciate the recommendation base on experience. It is my first ls build and am trying to keep human error out of the equation.
Thanks!
