Seems to be an issue with C6 Z06 caliper pins touching the rotor. Not all setup but some. Grinding down the end of the pin will remove the flange that holds the sleeve in place. Seems some have made spacers to go under the pin threads to provide more clearance. Anyone know if these are readily avail or need to be made at a machine shop. Perhaps a different set of pins? Not all of the pins touch. Just a few on the RH inside under lateral loads.
Current pin sets in use are :
Front Caliper Guide Pin Set ACDelco 18K2069
Rear Caliper Guide Pin Set ACDelco 18K2070
These are non broached 6mm allen type
Calipers are AcDelco C6 Z06/ Grand Sport (silver)
Purchased new 12/28/13

Some one else on herebhad a similar issue I remember seeing a picture and they weren't really sure what was going on. Can you tell us what yr the calipers are ? Also what "head" style is it because I've seen some torx, hex and, bolt style pins thanks ryan

I had to make some spacers for mine, they are real close on a stock vette and with any spindle/bearing deflection or even being a slight bit off center the pins will rub.

I have been running the c6 for a while on my 442 and when I first installed that happened. If you install properly you won't have this issue call Tobin @ kore3 industries he can help you out. Don't shave the pins that's not your problem

Sounds like no doubt you are experiencing deflection for these pins to be contacting the rotor surface. First, I would make sure you have PERFECT alignment of caliper/pad over the rotor as every thousandths count.... If this will not solve the amount of deflection that is occurring in your particular application, then yes a simple shim/washer at the head of the pins will solve the pin to rotor issue. I used this same technique to not solve a deflection issue but to allow a slightly wider rotor thickness for a custom application. If my memory serves me right, I believe I used a -6AN stainless washer that had the correct "id" and simply sanded the "od" down to what was needed to fit in the small caliper bore. Hope this helps...
