I've tried searchingfor a L94 but nothing really showed up. I have been looking for a LQ4/9 for awhile in my price range and stumbled on a L94 this am. I do not know much about the motor except it was in a 2010 Escalade that was rearended and totaled has 80k on the motor I'm told. It is complete with harness, acc, etc. Only thing missing his the exhaust manifolds and he broke a belt tensioner in transport.

If I was to pick this up (as it seems like a pretty good deal), what would you guys do on a budget cam/heads/intake? I have a F1R I want to use on it. I have read its good to keept the VVT for low end torque for street driving... I am thinking since its 403hp factory it might not need as much as some of the other options cost wise or am I mistaken? I need to make a decision as quickly as possible so I dont loose out if I am correct in thinking its a good deal.

Thanks guys!

If you are into internet hype and like have a dyno sheet to go around and show everyone.. go with a F1r.. if you actually want the car to preform, or race, or be effective or anything else other then a dyno queen.. go F1a or D1 depending on what your goals are .. I have done 900 and 1200 respectively on a 346... with 243 heads..

Also, heads are really a waste of money when it comes to blower ls motors...again, unless you like to tell people you have"xxx" heads..

I already have the F1r sitting there from my BBC prior...

Otherwise I don't care about Dyno sheets or name (part) dropping, hahaha

Just want it to run good street car with occasional track time....

bbc is one thing because the TQ is there and can turn it easier.. ls motors just cant turn it very easy, that's all.. it will work.. not doubt....just better head units for that motor..

THX John!

OK We can close this thread. After seeing it in person and talknig to the guy that had it, it turned out he got it mixed up with another motor he has (or so he said, but he lives locally and is actually a friend of a good friend of mine) and it actually winded up being a LQ4 from a 2004 Escalade with 78k miles on it, he sold it to me complete and is delivering it tonight. I got it for $700 complete!!! Now onto a new thread for my buildup!!!
