Just wanted to share a few pics from the Power Tour in our '71 C10. Even surprised a couple of guys in a 5th Gen Camaro when we hit some nice tight curves on County Road K in Wisconsin. It was quite the moment when you have someone with a Camaro come up to you and they are impressed with how your 40+ year old TRUCK handles. Love it!9768697690976899768897687976919769297693

I didn't realize you were on here. If I'd known that, I'd made an attempt to interrupt the conversation you were already in. LOL I never could catch you after the first night at Concord. I checked the truck out at every stop, though.

Slick68 - Sorry I missed you on Power Tour, but I know what you mean. It was damn near impossible to catch everything that you wanted to see, even in a week's time. How well did you run on the Tour, any issues?

I haven't visited this forum much recently, we were pounding away pretty steadily on the C10 before Power Tour and I fell of pace a bit at making posts here and on 67-72chevytrucks.com. Playing catch-up now and looking to getting back into a few other restoration projects we have going on.

Well, on our way to Concord on Friday night, we stopped for a pee break. I noticed the volt meter was reading low, but it had never had any issues before, so I didn't worry too much. Went back out to start the car, and, nothing!! We got a boost, then headed on turning off everything but the lights. We rolled in about 2am on Saturday. I got another boost later and took it to a parts store to get the alternator tested. It was showing low charge when under a load, but working ok otherwise. It still worked as long as I wasn't driving at night. At the Knoxville stop, we got to stay at home that evening(only 35min from venue), so I robbed the alternator from my brother's GMC truck. LOL When I swapped them, I discovered the belt was shot. It was crusty and crumbly, so the alt. was probably fine, but the belt was most likely slipping real bad. After that, we had no issues at all. On our way home though, it developed an exhaust leak, which is probably a bad header gasket.

In some ways, it was fun getting to drive the Monte so the family could ride together, but I still missed driving my truck. I get to flog on it this weekend at PSMC, though!!
