View Full Version : Strength between 5 on 5 vs 4-3/4

Was just wanting to get some others opinion on which bolt circle I should go with.

I currently have 5 on 4 and 3/4 bolt circle spindals as well as my rear end.
I'm going to be ordering a 9" rear end and I can chose a 5 on 5, and as for the front, I will be replacing with drop spindals and new hubs in which I can also change to 5 on 5 or stick with the 5 on 4 - 3/4s.

Since I plan to make this car corner like a race car is there any major strength difference between the two?

I plan to run 18 inch wheels with 40-45 series rubber.

Tnx

I don't think there is a difference in strength. I think your wheels will have higher resale in a 5x4.75.

From a strength standpoint, go with the 5 on 5 pattern. Your going from a 7/16 stud to a 1/2 stud-plus the pattern is slightly wider which places the load of the wheel more uniformly on the hub of the rotor-less likely to shear a stud this way. -G
