Hey guys,

I've read a bunch about swapping the 6060 into a 68 Camaro but I'm getting a bit overwhelmed. I've just purchased a complete 2012 SS pullout and wanted to see what your opinions are on either keeping the 6060 and making it work or swapping it for a T-56? Is it more cost effective to sell this one off and purchase the T56? After massaging the firewall, buying the correct driveshaft, etc., is it just smarter to go with a complete T-56 kit?

If you need more info about my setup please let me know. I'm a novice to this stuff but really want to get my hands dirty and learn as I go.

Always cheaper to go with what you have. The 6060 is the oem version of the t56 magnum. Someone sells a drives haft that adapts to the 6060 yoke and then bolts up to the differential.

I get that, but my understanding was that it's only rated for 430hp? I'm hoping to swap a mast cam into the LS3 and don't want to end up blowing the tranny.

I think you are thinking about the ls1 t56 that one was rated at 450 a 6060 is rated for 600-650 GM would never out a trans that is at its limit with an ls3. The trans is strong like I said it's the oem version of the magnum but of course the magnum is stronger at a 700 rating

Buy the few pieces to make the 6060 work. No point in getting rid of it to start over.

If I remember right, the TR6060 is the trans in the Viper, CTS-V, GT500, and ZR1 Vette, all of which are in the 550-650 HP range, so you should have plenty of room for power with a cammed LS3.
