I noticed a lot of people doing fake white letting on their low profile tires and even some concept car's having them. I like it what do you think?

It's getting big in the import scene because of stanced / stretched tire look. First saw it again on the RWB Porsches

I hope so. I know some guys hate them...I was kind of torn on weather or not to run them out when I stuck tires on my old 15's a few years ago. Im glad I did and Im pretty sure I would buy RWL's when I order my 18's in the near future. I think it looks great!!

Thats something I have missed on later cars. Honestly I REALLY missed them. Heck I remember seeing Semi's with white letters and it even made more sense.
I remember when JC Whitney used too sell the rubber paint and paint pens for touching up white letters OR making non white letters ,,,white.

The thought upon clicking this was "Oh no". But looking at them they look pretty good in the above examples. This is probably since these are mostly on a more business look wheel, and give kind of a NASCAR look to them, so I approve of that. I don't know if the RWL look would lend itself more to a showy-type car and wheel.

That's interesting. I bet that is what's on that challenger I posted
guys i was one of the first to resurrect this white lettering idea on modern muscle cars back in 2009 when we built a new 5th Gen Camaro for SEMA. take a peek, it truly made the car unique especially with the full white leather and alcantara custom interior.

Wow that is sweet. Wonder what the odds are of the manufacturer's making them again
FYI over the years i have seen cars mostly IMPORTS where they use a white paint marker to color in the logo on their tires etc. this trend was popular years back but i haven't seen much of this of late. Also EVOD GARAGE just got s special tire printer machine from Japan that prints logos etc on tires for $400 a set. I am not sure how good this process will work but I will add it was a PITA to get the lettering to stay white and not come off because under load the sidewall flexes and you really need the right paint. EVODS machine is a inkjet so im am doubtful on the longevity of this process. I sourced paint from Europe which is no longer available so im sorta glad i did this when I did and had some impact on the trend. I do think its a great look on Resto mod styled cars if done properly. I will do this again on my next build for sure i think.

Ugh! I hope their NOT coming back! I'd rather be driving my car than scrubbing the tires with Bleach-White and a toothbrush! No fond memories here. (They look fine on OTHER peoples' cars, though.)

Just about all of the newer/popular white letters aren't raised, they're printed or painted on like race tires instead of molded into the tire. Big difference in how it looks compared to the 80's/90's raised/molded white letters. I really like the printed look, reminds me of race tires from the '60's.

I like white letters on low profile tires. To be honest I never stopped running white letter tires over the years primarily on my pickup trucks because RWL tires have always been available in truck sizes.

Something about those letters rolling up to a stop,,,, ahhh memories.
I always wondered WHY they made then so tall if the are gonna grind part of it off to expose the white, tire company rep for Kelly told me so people could color back in the BLACK if it got scuffed. But most of the semi tires dont seem to be very tall like old school rwl.
I wonder if a person could do something like a modified "tattoo" process to make it more resilient?
Like its bonded below surface of sidewall but not necessarily a band of white IN the tire. You know just have white where the letters are then you could touch up with tire black

Considering the whitewall underlayment necessary to make RWL adds weight to the tire and the emphasis on a UHP tire is, after all, ultimate, I don't think RWL ever be factored into nor will ever be found in a UHP tire from the OEM suppliers.

I like them as well. I recently bought BFG Radial TA's, and turned them white letters in. I admit I let my son talk me into it. I may just have to reverse that decision. I've always liked the white letter tires. But then that was my era...

I hope to see more manufacturers carrying tires like these, because I love the look of white or yellow letters on the side of low profile tires.
