Hey everyone,

I know I posted this in the multimedia forum, but I think it should be here.

Basically, Bonspeed messed up when they cut my wheels, and put the lug holes BETWEEN the spokes instead ON the spokes.

I can have then use correct centers, or use these... either way they are going to be welded this week.

What does everyone think?

What happens if you need another rim in the future? Say from a flat or curb damage. Would they miss drill another one?

I like the look of the mistake myself but I have to raise the question on strength. The lug holes are removing a lot of material from the web between the two spokes and I think this may cause a weak cross-section. I have to tell you to pass on these dude. If they would guarantee they won't break and kill you, go for it, but they won't do that so make them do it right.
Limecuda's point is an excellant one also...

Mark,

Excellent point about the strength. I was wondering that myself.. it seems that half of the lug hole is in the solid portion, and half is in the webbing. I am going to speak to them about the issue of strength, and ask about Limecuda's point as well.

I am liking the mistake, myself :). BUT, at 120mph I don't want to find about weaknesses :drive2:

Im like the lugs in the spoke personally, thats why I went with the Bonspeed Huntingtons.. Good luck with the finished product. I just got mine in last Friday, took quite a long time. Well worth the wait..

Looks like you live around the corner from me. I am in Seminole too.. Here is thread of my progress

Cool! I'm about ready to build an egine? Know a good machine shop?

I live near the beach on Park before the bridge.

I went with the holes between because I wanted to break up the angular-ness of the wheel up just a tad. Plus, I think it will make the spokes look longer.

I also heard from Bonspeed through my wheel guy. He said the wheel welds will break before the centers do. If you need Bonspeed, talk to Joel at customrevolution.com

I can't wait. I'm practically drooling now that I have a picture of MY wheels in the making, not just a regular 'ol clipart.
