has anyone attempted an aftermarket or retrofit coil on plug ignition yet? i have been looking around, but not finding anything.....i think it would be pretty trick.

I think MSD has a coil near plug setup using gen3 coils

If your running fuelinjection I think the FAST and Motec systems can control, coil on plug and coil near plug setups. if you have an late model f/y-body lt1 there are several options to convert the optispark to a coil near plug setup. Check out deltec and the ltcc.
