All I have seen is pics. I have a line on this car, know nothing other then it's midnight blue metallic w/ white stripes. I will be checking it out Saturday but would like to know what a "buy" price would be.
I will check out the condition but, if this thing is clean and the floors are good I may get serious about it.

There is no such thing as a 69 Z28 convertible. It is just a convertible with Z28 badges. Hard to say value based on those pics bit mid 20's would be my guess. More if it is a real BB car.

Thanks Don, yea, I just got the vin and it is a 6 cyl car. It has all of the Z cues, Rallye pac on the console, etc. I will go check it out but I wouldn't go that much for it.

69 convertibles bring good money. Looks like a rally sport based on the tail lights. That will add to the value. Six cylinder hurts it a little.

Without the build sheet is there any other way to tell if the car had the rally sport option from the factory? If they went to all of the trouble to Z28 it, swapping the tail lights wouldn't be that hard, right? I don't know that much about the 1st gens so your help is appreciated.
With your knowledge, and if the car is clean, what would be a good price for it?

There are a few clues to tell if it is a real RS but I am not an expert. A little research over on camaros.net will tell you what to look for. If it is rust free I am thinking high teens or low twenties if it is not rusty. Watch the fit on the doors. Convertibles can sag in the middle if the rockers are bad and the doors will have a bad fit. Good luck, wish I could find one...

Here's an example of 69 vert values:

The car was decent. It was part of an auction about three miles from my place.
I looked it over top to bottom, checked for mud, there was some in the bottoms of the front fenders and around the lower corners of the rear window. The floor pans and trunk were clean, some surface rust but still very solid. I think it was wrecked at some point and the Z28 clip was used as a replacement. I found orange paint under the blue in a few spots. It was well done though. The doors were tight and closed with a click. There was a hugger orange hood in the barn on site along with a deck lid and a few tail lights.
The 454 had a mild cam in it. Looked like a truck motor, at least the intake was, very low profile. Started up and sounded pretty good.
I went to 15K. The auctioneer had a hard time getting it to go higher. I thought I was going to drive it home!!! He kept pushing though and it finally went for 18K. I couldn't believe I ALMOST had it for 15. That was my limit though and I stick to a limit at auctions. It was well worth the 18 and the guy got a pretty decent car for the money...

Another Camaro that needs a restoration/rebuild.
You buy NICE 69 Camaro convertibles for $25K-$30K DONE! Granted they are not L79 396 Super Sports but neither is this car.
$12,500 is all I see given the CONDITION in the pics! $15K IF you just have to have it!
You could SPEND $20K on this car easily and that's AFTER you have bought the car!

Thanks,
