I caught this set of RB3Cs, as they came out of the assembly area recently. I was struck by the Transparent Smoke finish and the optional exposed hardware. The details in this wheel are very nice. Given the narrow outer, this particular set was probably destined for a modern high-offset fitment, but I thought it might give you some ideas for your next wheel project.

Great wheel design, but the exposed hardware turns me off in about 2 seconds.

The exposed assembly hardware is a little old school for some tastes. To each his own, of course. That is the great thing about a custom wheel; you can get it however you want it.

Of course, the RB3C is also available with hidden hardware. In fact, hidden hardware is the standard configuration. The exposed hardware is the "option".

Most of our three piece wheels can be ordered with your choice of exposed or hidden hardware. The exceptions are wheels with really deep chamfers along the top of the rim register (like the MS3C). The really deep chamfers are hidden only, because we don't want to drill all the way through that narrow chamfer.

It should also be noted that the hidden hardware also utilizes Heli-Coil inserts. So if you need to disassemble the wheel for service, then you won't strip out the threads in the aluminum.
