The slicks are actually NASCAR Hoosiers from a Late model class car. Not a true drag slick, but you can't beat free!
All that noise for a 7.84? I like how narrow the strip is.

Uphill. IHRA 1/4 track is 4 hours away instead of 40 minutes and would probably boot me after one 11 sec pass.

Beats your 7.80! I have a lousy 60', as well. Starter guy told me I should be low 7's high 6's with my MPH. Best MPH that day was 93.3 mph. That strip gets narrower after you find someone's oil in third gear!

Your 60' doesn't look that bad and your time seems about right. My car has a 1.78 60' and is running 7.8 in the 1/8. I think my car hooks pretty well. Why do you think you will get the boot at the 1/4 mile track? You know they have lowered the roll bar rule to 11.49? Good luck and have fun with the car.

Uhh, the 7.80 1/8 mile vid on your web site.
Sorry, I'm notorious for being vague.
As for my 60", some guy with a 69 'vette in the FAST series was pulling 1.70's 60' with A-78-14 Coker repo street tires and a 427! he was in the low 10's /high 9's at 130ish.
So naturally, I figured I just sucked!:dunno:

That track looks like Shadyside? If it is that track is NARROW as hell but lotsa fun for grudge racing, fan wagering, and just orneryness.

Yup.. Shadyside it is! You should SEE the crap people drag out there to run! I saw a go-cart with an old Kawasaki 1200 engine on it! Scary!

Typically in the 1/4 mile you will go 1.59 X your 1/8 mile et, and pick up 24 to 26 MPH in the second half of the track at this level. When we had the little motor in our street racer, it went 12.20s with identical stats as yours. So pretty good., but the guy telling you low 7s is blowing smoke. Low 7s is least 100MPH, and 125 out the door in the quarter.

Maybe. The '55 in my 2nd run of the vid went 7.21 at 93mph, and I have a 93 mph time slip at 7.66. I also have a slip of 8.24 at 91 mph, so your e.t. isn't necessarily locked to your mph, as mine are all over the place, with a difference of .60 seconds with near identical mph

I have seen it but I still like the track for some reason. It seems to hook good for me unlike the local tracks but then again I havent went 1/8mi racing in quite a while.

You have to also understand that you mph will come down as your car hooks up better. You will always run a higher mph with worse 60' times. ET is for the most part, all about hooking up and going straight.
