You guys can choose what you like better: Jack of All Trades or Mullet Ride..lol.

Well... thought it was about time to post up my pos:screwy:

Engine bay painting with the Eastwood ceramic paint. First time painting and yes.. I realize its not perfect. The K-member will end up replaced so it didnt get masked.:

I snapped off all the trans mount cross member bolts in the frame rail. To fix that... Chop, Cut, Rebuild..har har har..:

Refinished a couple sway bar brackets and K-Member brackets. Wish I had a sandblaster for that one... oi. Oh, sorry about the iPotato quality on these:

Then I thought... brakes. Hmm.. lets try to make a bracket that would allow the use of CTSV Brembos with a 13" rotor. Ultimately, I gave this up as between larger wheels and tires or 2 piece rotors, custom brackets, etc... the price difference was 20 bucks...lol. The 'first draft' bracket was looking promising. I modified the stock spindle by cutting off the original mounting ears and doing some massaging/stress relieving with an angled die grinder. I think with a little more time and effort it; could work safely.

Front brake on passenger side as it is now (CTS-V OEM, Kore3 Medium Duty Hub, Bigbrakeupgrade.com modified and powder coated spindles, BBU's custom stainless line, BBU OEM Brembo bracket, etc:

Updates will include:
Engine assembly: LQ4 .020 over, LS3 heads, L76 intake, 42lb injectors, Holley 90mm TB, LS7 takeout cam (211/230 ~.550/550 with 1.7 rockers), LS2 heavy duty single roller chain.

Turbo Kit Build: Stock GN TB0348 turbos, modified stock manifolds, Treadstone TT Mustang Intercooler (twin in, single out), Turbosmart EBoost Street, and some other bits.

Exhaust: Custom true duals that I am going to somehow tuck under the car, Huayra'esc resonators, a bunch of ovalized tubing, etc

Hood modifications: building functional airbox to work with cowl and 3 hood vents (center 2014 vent plus 2 hex vents) to relieve engine bay air pressure.

Replacement Steering shaft: Flaming River/Borgeson collapsible steering shaft

and the one I hope doesnt take long to be able to install:

Stand alone retrofit of an 08+ MRC. This is the big one for me and is why I have not gotten shocks better than KYB AGX's. This car is literally going to be a jack of all trades car. The intent of the MRC is to have a suspension I can do any sort of racing I desire and have the car adapt mostly on its own. Drag strip Saturday, AutoX Sunday, Summit Point or VIR the next weekend, and an ORR whenever I feel like it. Infinity adjustable shocks with a laptop to tune. Yes, please.

Aero will be another part of the whole. the engine bay first with a belly pan, a splitter of some sort, flat bottom on either side of the d/s tunnel and somehow someway.. a working diffuser that may or may not include a pseudo EBD aspect. Right now though.. that is just pie in the sky thinking.

Some bits I didnt take pictures of yet are the cleaned up and painted steering box, new steering linkage bits (I really do wish rack and pinion would be a feasible option. Those steering boxes are heavy and puts a lot of weight in a really strange place. Also, I dont have pictures of the balljoint replacement and shady press fixturing, front control arm 'resto', and moog heavy duty front spring install (700lb/in rate, rears are 107lb/in rear).

Enjoy.

Steering Shaft Replacement:

The shaft came as a 21 inch collapsed/27 inch expanded piece with 3/4" DD/1"DD. Here is the Flaming River/Boregeson setup cut down, dimpled, and test fit.:
