1972 Datsun 510 4 Door

This 1972 Datsun 510 4 Door Sedan has been seriously modified to accept a Late Model KA Twin Cam Fuel Injected Engine, Five Speed Transmission, a DatSport Type Front Suspension Kit and Front Cross-member with Caster Camber Plates, Modified front Stuts, a Complete Narrowed 240 SX Independent Rear Suspension with QA1 Coilover Shocks a 2 Inch Mini Tub Body Modification and a Full Fuel Cell Installed In The Trunk!

The body on this Datsun 510 is Excellent with the only rust in the car being at the bottom of the rear quartet panels on both sides. Hard to believe this car is on the East Coast with a body in this nice condition. The floor boards, frame rails, rocker panels, fenders, radiator support, cowl, doors and more are all original Datsun and ALL in nice rust-free condition. All the body lines on the car are good. The front fenders are not bolted on the car at this time and therefore the lower fender gap looks a little wide. The front grill and headlight bezels are in nice condition. The front bumper is original and has the correct mounting brackets. The rear bumper is original and does not have the correct brackets. The rear tailights, side marker lights, door trim and rocker molding trim is in good contiion. All four fender wells have had the fender lips enlarged for larger wheels and tires. The work on the fender lips is very nice. Look at the detailed pictures.

All the glass in the car is good. The front windshield is new. The front and rear glass will need new weatherstrip to install as they are loose at this time. The side door windows operate properly.

The neat part of this car is by far the suspension! The rear suspension has been professionally modified to install and narrow a late model Nissan 240 rear independent suspension. The whole rear floor section, truck and frame rails have been professionally fabricated. The car also has a 2 inch Mini-Tub on the rear suspension and body. The rear-end also has QA1 Coilover shock absorbers with Eibach brand springs. The rear fuel tank has been replaced by a steel tank fuel cell properly fabricated in the trunk. All the sheet-metal work for the rear floors, trunk and the fuel cell is complete. This is a Very Nice install!

The front suspension and cross-member has been replaced with a DatSport type of front cross-member that allows the installation of a late model Twin Cam Fuel Injected engine or Turbo-Charged late model engine. All the suspension components are replaced or new. The front coil-over struts are excellent along with nice caster/camber plates. The car has been upgraded with 4 Piston 12 inch front disc brakes and the rear disc brakes from the late model 240 SX rear-end. The rear brakes have a proportioning valve installed in the rear brake system. All the work completed on the suspension is very nicely crafted. The car has a set of early 70's 14 inch American Vector Wheels with older tires.

Included with the car is a Complete Late Model Nissan 240SX Twin Cam Fuel Injected Engine complete with Factory Nissan Wiring Harness, 5 Speed Transmission with Shifter and Clutch, Griffin Brand Aluminum Radiator Fabricated to fit the car, a Can Am Products brand wiring fuse box to allow the simple installation of the fuel injection wiring harness to the car, the correct Rear DatSport Type fabricated transmission cross-member to allow installation of the modern 5 speed transmission and more.

The interior is basic at this point. The car has the complete and original dash board with Tach/Gauges. The steering wheel is a real wood steering wheel from a Datsun 240Z. The front seats are in excellent condition. The door panel cards are original. The headliner needs replaced. There is no rear seat, no seat belts, no carpet, no armrest or other interior parts not shown in pictures.

I have many detailed pictures available for the asking.

Great car to build into an autocross/high speed track terror.

These cars make great race cars. I vintage raced a 510 for several years. MUCH more fun than racing my old 66 Shelby GT350.
