I have a holley alternator pigtail 197-400 with 1 yellow wire with resitor built in that goes to 12v key on source . I also have a 12v wire to b+ post on alternator is this good enough or do i have to connect wires to the holley wire connector? Thanks

Are you saying the Holley pigtail has two wires? One yellow one with a diode which goes to 12v key on, AND a second wire that you currently have going straight to the output post on the alternator?
