I'm installing a Tremec TKO 600 in my 1968 GTO. I purchased a clutch pedal kit from Original parts group for 68'-72' Gm A-body. The original brake is removed by a bolt with a steel sleeve around it with 2 white bushings. The new kit from OGPI is a 5/8" shaft that is larger than the original hole in my automatic cars steering column brace. Do I just drill out the column support to 5/8' with a 90 degree drill?
Someone must have run into this problem before me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What diameter are the bushings that are used with the 5/8" shaft?

The white bushings are the same size on both the stock set up and the 5/8 shaft that the new clutch pedal comes with. On the stock setup it is steel sleeve then whit bushing inside of the brake pedal tube.
