Cleaning grease from parts

What do you guys recommend to clean the 30+ years of grease and dirt off things like door latches and window tracks? should i soak them in some kearosene or something like that?

Kerosene or mineral spirits should do the trick...

I have been using Simple Green for years. Give it a try. A lot less dangerous then the flammable stuff.

I used some Zep (I believe) Industrial Degreaser out of a gallon from Home Depot. Soaked the door latches for a Chevelle I did last year in a paint pan, and they were completely degreased within hours, and looked awesome, like brand new. Regreased them, and they worked great.
