Hey folks!
When I was 15 I bought my first car, a 1967 Mustang Coupe. My dad's and my goal was to rebuild the car from ground up, it originally had a 289ci engine but luckily this one had a 351ci in it!
During all the time restoring it, I had many different ideas on how the car would look like when finished, Blue, Bullitt-like, Red, Grey... But now I made my final decision and want it black!

(Don't think that this will be done tomorrow, I'm doing my last year in highschool and don't always have time to work bysides.)

Here is how I got her 3 and a half years ago:

Here two videos showing the progress at the beginning!

Almost a month ago the car came back from the paintjob, I was stunned by the result.

Yesterday I took the car out of the garage to start working on the front and to see how the color looks in daylight!

Here's a car one of our installers threw together as a daily driver. It has our TCP FCOC (http://www.cachassisworks.com/c-806-coil-over-conversion.aspx)front system, manual rack (http://www.cachassisworks.com/c-832-steering.aspx), and mid-eye leafs in the back. It could definitely come down lower but he wanted it comfy for daily use.

The suspension is all Global West. I dearched the rear leafs 2" and cut 1 full coil off the 620# springs.

Alright thanks dude!

Since the interior was red and I want to spend least money possible, I recovered the old back seats. I am stunned how it came out!

Looks great! Looks like you've done a lot of quality work and started your project off right.

Take a look at some of the other mustang project threads on this forum! A lot of really great inspiration for you. kmcanally's car is one of my personal favorite mustangs I've ever see.

That action shot of my car was from PHR...they Photoshopped the color to make it look more green than it really was. I was a little disappointed when I saw it in the magazine. Not sure why they wanted it to look like something it wasn't.

I know mines a 70, but I went with TCP's Bolt in Coilovers up front... used to have 750lb springs cut 2 coils...got about the same ride height now with out the stiffness of about 1100 lbs spring.. Got 5 leaf reverse eye in the back and will be putting in the TCP 4 Link setup soon...

kmcanally,
17x8 or 17x9?
what was done to get your stance?

SBCriss,
That is some slick looking black paint. It's really coming along.

They're xxr 527's, I personally would've gone with the 9.75 wide like I have but not sure if they'd fit on the mustang.

The thread is almost 10 years old. Post 37 is a good friend of mine. His photos show up, he did something easier and a little different from what I did.

I'm in Afghanistan right now and don't have access to everything. I still have the leafsprings out of this car in storage, next time I'm home I'll post a photo. Heres a crude diagram below of how I lowered the rear using two old 4 leaf sets. Set two is represented in red. The main leaf with the eyelets is number 1. Set 1 will be the base set in black. Cut the eyelets off the #1red and place it under #1 black. Insert red #3 on a reverse arch on top of black #1, remove black #4, then clamp everything back together. I used allthread to tighten the centers together, then C clamped everything tight, added squared U-bolts like for trailer leafs, removed allthread and inserted allen head bolts. Different combinations net different results. Paires with Del-Alum bushings/shackle kit, it tightened up the rear and handled great.
