Wanted to drop a line, and just say, "Hi", everyone.
I've logged into this site before, but never really contributed in any discussions. I aim to change that.
I always dug the whole pro-touring scene.
I love seeing fresh and new innovative ideas that stem from a creative community. Determined in making their passions become a reality. By altering and improving on the overall look, feel, performance and functionality of a vehicle into something that becomes truly unique.
My project isn't hugely funded, it's what I can create or do myself that gets it going. My local parts distributor is the junk yard! With that said, it's not going to be a full on race around the coarse type build, till I can square away the essentials first. Ultimately more of a street/strip type profile. I'm not looking to win any awards here. But, I do want to make my vehicle to least stand out a bit.
My build is a, 1991 Caprice 350 TBI V8 (that doesn't seem as temperamental like my old LT1 if you neglected it longer than a week). It has a full on air-bag setup, that I'm looking to upgraded to some Shockwaves later, or maybe ditch the air-bag crap and get some coil-overs. I'm still on the fence about this. It has a full body shave, with all the fixings. Gonna re-wiring parts of the car's none-essential electrical, installing all new new pop-locks, alarm, and electrical back-up features, dual electrical fans setup and relay swap. Do a rear disc brake swap, May also cut out the rear fender wells, so the back end can breath a bit.
My hobbies are... I work, and I work on my car (when I'm motivated). And, when I find the time, I occasionally can be found at the local Slot-Car shop trying to build tiny 1/24th scale Drag Cars.
Not much else to say, but I'm doing this on my own, and out in the elements, so to speak. I would love to get involved, and meet with like minded folks and see where there builds are taking them. If a want to shoot the sh*t, feel free and drop me a line sometime.
