Was painting a fiberglass trunk and spoiler, spoiler is new gel coat, trunk had been painted and cleared, had some repair done and was respraying it.
Base Clear. I sanded the trunk, cleaned with grease and wax remover, primed, sanded and cleaned again, same on the spoiler.
The spoiler turned out fine, but the trunk paint blistered and bubbled in various places, but didin't seem to at the repair spots. Haven't cleared it yet.
I have just enough primer and paint to shoot it one more time but I have no idea what to do to prevent it again.
Suggestions?
I have no time, got to load and head to the track so this needs to be fixed fast, or at least presentable by this afternoon.

You have to wait on all new paint recoating. How old was the paint on the base coat you were painting over?

The trunk had been painted base-clear about 4 years ago. I patched a couple of bad spots, sanded the entire trunk, cleaned and primed.
Water sanded, let it dry, cleaned and did a dust coat. First wet coat I noticed some issues, second wet coat is when it got really bad. It was reacting to something underneath.

I let it dry for an hour or so, wet sanded the entire trunk again, let it dry real good and put one wet coat on since that's all the paint I had left, waited about 1/2 hour and shot a coat of clear, another 1/2 hour and a second clear.
Seems to be fine now, or at least presentable, not sure if I put the original wets on too soon after each other or what caused it but the gel coat and primed spoiler did fine with the same proceedure.
