So....moved to Seattle come two years in June, and getting along with my latest build. Ran the Michelin Pilots in the Midwest with no issues, but wondering what they are like in the rain. Its not a matter of if I'll be driving and the rain will come, but when.
Anyone have any experience with them in wet weather?

Didn't think I'd get much response to this question. That's not a common tire and who the heck drives in the rain? Outside of us webbed feet Seattle folks.
Ah the search continues....

The PS2 which has a similar tread pattern works good in the rain.. I don't think you'll have any problems.

A fellow seattlite! I bought my Ps2s off a gentlemen who had them on his Mercedes. He said he did not like them in the rain at all and was buying all season tires hence the sale. I don't drive my car in the rain, but I bet they could be interesting with all the sitting water we get sometimes. I love the PS2 in general. They make my car super predictable and forgiving and feel very sticky. I would probably advise to keep the PS2s for the sunny days however. Good luck

Just to Clarify: I know the super sports are a bit different but I believe them to be fairly similar to the PS2 from what I have read and researched

Hey Tacoma! I'm next door in Puyallup!
The weather concerns me. I know the drag radials will have to stay off the car and only out at the track. Just looking for something that I know is great on the street, but wont put me into a ditch when it does rain. With the amount I plan on driving this build I'm currently working on, I need a little assurance that this is the right tire, or I'll move on to something else.

Oh man even closer. Puyallup is great. With your intentions you very well may need to look into a more all season tire. It's great your planning on driving your hot rod in the NW. I kinda went to far on my car to feel ok about all weather driving, but I don't let a sprinkle scare me.
Not sure if you've checked out CHC or aka Chris Holstom's Concepts. It's in north Puyallup across the river. I work part time for Chris. He is making quite the name for himself in the pro-touring world. Big on LS swaps and hot rod work. Even if you do most all your own work he is a great guy for information and would welcome you in his shop anytime to just peek at the projects. Good luck with yours!

I'm familiar with his work. Everything I've seen is very impressive, clean and well thought out. I'll be stopping in to see Holstrom early next week for some industry related stuff. Not sure if he will be attending the Performance Warehouse trade show in Portland OR this weekend. I'll be working that event. I know he attends the Comp show in Auburn, but I missed that event this year.
Was hoping to stick with the Michelins as they are just so damn nice on dry pavement. Maybe I'll keep a summer set and a rest of the year set.

I run Michelin Pilot Super Sports in Seattle. The car is a driver, but not a daily driver. They are OK in the rain, but I drive more cautiously when the roads are wet. And honestly, I avoid the rain now if I can.
