Bad Day at Super Chevy in Memphis, Tn

Yesterday wasn't a good day at Super Chevy in Memphis Tn. Someone's exhaust caught the dry grass afire and this is what happened....

I believe there were more than 20 cars totaled by the fire at last count.

More than likely it was started by a careless smoker and a tossed cigarette.

I'm just glad it wasn't the show cars, although it would've been nice if it hadn't happened at all.

the grass was to high, I bet there are lawsuits coming ! grass should have been cut from what I see

Looks like the spectator parking area and not the "show" area.. still a bad deal..

We had that happen at our local Air Show. They had dry grass, & disked it in, but in the area where the tractor turned around, the disk dumped grass in a row. Someone parked over it & the catylitic converter started a fire. It burned a dozen cars all in a row.

What I was told...
It was a private area where the landowner was charging to park. At $10 a pop, I guess cutting the field would have got into his profit too much... we'll see how he fares on his property liability.
There was lots of parking available on the MIR property, all closely mown grass. You might have had to walk your fat a$$ a little more but they were selling cold beer all over the place.
I had a great time, met some really nice folks, watched some great racing, had a corn dog, left before the blaze.
